Bentley Mulliner A fast car, a good car, the best in your class

Bentley Mulliner Batur made an impressive debut at 2022 Monterey Car Week in California, and has a lot to ride on his shoulders and bulbous flanks. Mulliner Batur is the most powerful Bentley in 103-year history (and counting). It also has an updated design language that moves away from the family configuration of the round light that began with the first car of the founder of the company W.O. Bentley, the 3 Litre, which entered production from 1921 to 1929.

The most modern and sporty facade of Batur is the new design direction for future Bentley cars, all electrified in an imminent future. The Batur represents Mulliner’s second coach Bentley, the oldest coach in the world who started as a branch of a family business established in the 1760s. Bentley Mulliner’s first car, the speedy Bacalar, was revealed in 2020 and had style elements inspired by the ultra desirable brand EXP 100 GTa concept revealed in 2019 to celebrate the centenary of Bentley.

The last of the race

In addition, the Mulliner Batur could be Bentley’s latest production vehicle to carry the iconic W12 petrol engine of the brand inherited from Volkswagen. But with electrification and cars defined by software Entering the fray, Bentley’s W12 is heading towards the sunset. Before it collapses in history books, Bentley sends it as the most powerful and advanced 12-cylinder engine the world has seen. “Our W12 engine is easily the most successful 12-cylinder engine in history,” said Adrian Hallmark, President and Chief Executive of Bentley. “As you approach your retirement to give way to future hybrids and VABs, we want to mark your achievements. ”

We are talking about a 60.0 litre 12-cylinder gas engine in a W configuration, tuned to produce 730 horsepower and 737 lb-ft. torque. Those numbers have turned Mulliner Batur the most powerful Bentley vehicle in history, faster than the first modern Bentley of Mulliner, the Bacalar, with 650 horsepower and 667 lb-ft. pair.

Handmade in Crewe, England, Batur’s W12 has updated turbochargers, intercoolers, and a redesigned intake to pump 40 percent more energy while providing 25 percent better fuel economy. This monster of an engine sends grunts to the four wheels through an eight-speed double clutch gearbox with an electronic clip differential (eLSD) and a braking pair vector.

The Bentley Mulliner Batur is a look at the design language of the car manufacturer for its future range of electric battery vehicles (the first one is ready to arrive in 2025). Mulliner Batur has a line that extends from its long hood to the back, physically connecting the front with the rest of the body of the car.

The elongated position and muscle proportions have given you what Bentley’s design team calls a “strength beast stamina” that makes the vehicle look fast even when it’s still standing. “In general, the form is cleaner and simplified, and we rely more on curved surfaces in the right places to reflect light and darkness and bring more muscle to design,” said Andreas Mindt, Bentley’s design director.

Posh ” Sustainable Cabin Material

The Bentley Mulliner Batur is fully tailored for each customer. For example, exterior painting options are “almost infinite”, and buyers can specify their choice of body color and ornaments (including hand painted graphics, if so preferred). “Batur is not only a beautiful artisan Bentley, but he is also the next member of a distinguished car line driven by Mulliner,” said Paul Williams, Director of Mulliner.

Mulliner Batur is the first to debut Bentley’s natural fiber-composed sheets, a more sustainable alternative to smooth carbon fiber ol. The interior of two seats is available in Scotland’s low-carbon leather, sustainable Italian tanning leather, or Dynamic. Other custom options include bright or dark inner tones, trim titanium metal and 18k gold printed in 3D if you want some authentic brother. And for the first time in a Bentley, the plush carpets are made of recycled thread.

In short, not two Bentley Baturs will look the same. Mulliner’s internal design team will work with each individual buyer to customize every corner and car kangaroo, to the minimum details. If you are in a hurry, the hard luck from the craftsman process of joining a Mulliner Batur will take several months to complete.

Bentley Mulliner Batur Architecture

Like the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar, the Batur rides on similar supports derived from the Continental GT. And like Bacalar, Batur shares zero-body panels with the Conti GT. What you have is a collection of fast performance hardware that suits a great Bentley tourer. In addition to its powerful W12 engine and the trick traction line, the Batur has three-camera air springs and an active 48-volt anti-roll control system to improve comfort, sport and handling. The latter can decorate the wheels on the front or rear axle to keep the bright side up.

The 22-inch alloy wheels (configurable to any color or finish, of course) of the Batur are Bentley CSiC or Carbon-Silica-Carbide 17-inch and 16-inch rear disk brakes. Meanwhile, the escape of all titanium saves weight, while Bentley prepared the 3D printed titanium exhaust tips.

All sold

Bentley Mulliner will only make 18 examples of Batur, a vehicle that perfectly embodies the ideology of W.O. Bentley’s famous date“build a fast car, a good car, the best in your class.” The automotive manufacturer had no problems selling all 18 construction slots to its low-level clientele about two million each (not including options and taxes). Lucky buyers must receive their Bentley Mulliner Batur in mid-2023.
